Amy Johnson was born in Hull on the first of July in 1903.When she was eighteen she began a relationship with a Swiss business, Hans Arregger , who was lived in Hull. Amy Hoped they would marry, but the relationship broke down and Hans, married another women but he kept Amy letters for the rest of his life. In September 1928, she had flying lessons at london Aeroplane club. while she was learning, Amy said proudly ''I have an immense belief in the future of flying!'' When Amy gone home, she quit her job to be a mechanic. In December 1929, Amy was the first woman to qualify as a ground-engineer. The 5 January, she drowned in the sea rescued because of the crash into Thames Estuary Due to the rough weather. In 1961, a bone of a woman was washed up at Herne Bay. Unfortunately it wasn't Amy's body so her body has never been found.
